King Henry VIII spotted with Greggs Steak Bake 'proves time travel is real'

Conspiracy theorists believe a picture seemingly showing King Henry Vlll with a 'Greggs Steak Bake' proves that time travel is real. A man has made the bizarre claim that the monarch's footwear looked suspiciously similar to the pastry, reports the Mirror.

Luke took to social media to share a picture of the former king's portrait and pointed out his footwear, bearing a striking resemblance to a steak bake. The Mancunian questioned if the 16th-century portrait proved the king travelled to the future to visit the British bakery.

Posting on Twitter, Luke said: "Why do Henry VIII’s shoes look like a Greggs steak bake?”

The tweet has almost 600 retweets and more than 3,000 likes. The virality meant that the bakery chain themselves saw the wild conspiracy theory.

However, Greggs were amused at the discovery and replied: “Losing our heads over this.”

Many other people were quick to share their opinions on the monarch's shoes and their striking resemblance to pastry. A vast majority were left wondering whether the claims were true or not.

One person said: "ahhh choux pastry"

While another commented: "Because they are, needs to keep those toes warm during winter."

Another commented: "On another note - ciabatta (bread) translates to slipper. This has been going on a long time."

One user debunked the claims he wore steak bakes and said: "Bro that's cheese and onion. Get a grip."

While another user said: "Because, and not many people know this, Henry VIII's feet were delish!!!"
