Prince William turns 41-years-old today and his father King Charles has shared a sweet never-before-seen snap of his eldest son to mark his first birthday as the Prince of Wales.
The title which formerly belonged to Charles was appointed to William by the monarch following the death of the late Queen Elizabeth last year, the Mirror reports.
The birthday snap which was posted on the Royal Family's official Twitter account this morning shows William fastening the royal Imperial Mantle robe on his father as the pair smile at each other during private rehearsals for the King's historical Coronation last month.
The caption reads: "Wishing The Prince of Wales a very happy birthday today!"
Only working royals receive public birthday messages under rules put in place by the late Queen.
Last year, William celebrated his 40th birthday by volunteering to sell the Big Issue to highlight the plight of homelessness and he recently renewed his commitment to the cause with a new five-year-plan.
This plan will include building houses on his Duchy of Cornwall estate and providing further support to help unify resources from different charities.
He also revealed he will have a conversation about people "sitting outside supermarkets" to his three kids Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, eight and Prince Louis, five.
The Prince of Wales is patron to the two charities Centrepoint and The Passage which work to tackle homelessness.
William's lifelong concern for the issue began when he was just 11-years-old and Princess Diana took him with her to a London shelter.
Speaking last week, he said: “We can do it. It’s not insurmountable this challenge.
“If anyone does become homeless ‘OK, here’s the way back, here’s the pathway’. It’s nerve-racking. But I’m really excited.
"I've been waiting for the right time to do this."
Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales was born second in line to the throne as the Prince and Princess of Wales' first son at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington at 9:03pm on June 21 1982 weighing 7lb 11/2oz.
On Sunday, Kensington Palace shared a sweet picture of William with his own three kids George, Charlotte and Louis to mark Father's Day.
The snap shows a smiling Princess Charlotte and Prince George sitting at either side of their father with little Prince Louis hugging William on his shoulders from behind.
The three young royals and William are all dressed in blue with George and the future King both in trousers and casual shirts.
In the adorable snap, William's youngest child Louis is his usual excitable self and is seen beaming in a blue jumper while his brother and sister appear more relaxed.
