King Charles has shared a beautiful image of the late Queen in a poignant tribute on a bittersweet day for the Royal Family.

Today would have been the former monarch's 97th birthday - and it is the first since she died at Balmoral last September.

To mark the date, the Royal Family's official Twitter account posted a charming picture of Elizabeth II taken just months before her death.
