King Charles' plans for 'slimmed down monarchy' with 'less expensive' coronation amid cost-of-living crisis

King Charles is reportedly planning to 'slim down' the working monarchy and have a 'less expensive' coronation ceremony than his mother's amid Britain's cost-of-living crisis.

The new monarch's coronation will be 'shorter and smaller' than the Queen's ceremony in 1953, a royal source told the Mirror. King Charles is reportedly 'very aware of the struggles' felt in modern Britain so wants to represent this in his coronation.

The source told the paper: "The King is very aware of the struggles felt by modern Britons so will see his wishes carried through that although his coronation ceremony should stay right and true to the long held traditions of the past, it should also be representative of a monarchy in a modern world."
