King Charles' Dumfries House to host giant outdoor cinema this August with film hits including Elvis and Mamma Mia

The UK’s biggest open-air cinema tour is coming to Ayrshire this summer.

Experience an outdoor cinema like no other this August as Adventure Cinema bring hit films Elvis, The Greatest Showman and Mamma Mia to a giant screen in the stunning grounds of Dumfries House.

Movie buffs are encouraged to bring a blanket or camping chair as they experience true cinema escapism under the stars.

Screenings will take place on the lawn in front of the Palladian country house in Cumnock, with hot food, snacks and accessible toilet facilities available on site.

Picnics and drinks are welcome but no glass or BBQs are allowed. Ticket holders are advised to check with the venue regarding their alcohol policy.

Experience the King of Rock and Roll on royal grounds as Adventure Cinema bring last year’s hit film Elvis- a biographical drama which follows the life of American rock ‘n’ roll icon Elvis Presley, told from the perspective of his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

Elvis will be screening on Monday, August 7.

If the Jailhouse Rock singer gets you in the mood for a little sing song then The Greatest Showman Sing-A-Long on Tuesday, August 8 will certainly have you toe tapping and clapping along to ballads including This Is Me, Never Enough and A Million Dreams.

Continuing the musical theme on Wednesday, August 9 is everyone’s favourite musical romantic comedy Mamma Mia, based on the songs of world renowned pop group ABBA.

Gates open at 8pm, with films starting at around 9.30pm.

Free on-site parking will be available in the main car park, approximately 300m from the screening.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and, with the exception of registered assistance dogs, no animals are allowed at any of the events.
