The King's coronation will clash with an important family event tied to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The royal ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey, ushering in a national bank holiday. The coronation will be the first in over 70 years and invites world leaders and dignitaries to take part in the event amid pomp and pageantry.
Members of the royal family will also receive invitations but a key member has been overlooked as the date of the ceremony clashes with their own special day. Charles' youngest grandson Archie may not be in attendance for several reasons, one being his parents' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's strained relationship with the family, but also because it is his birthday.
