King Charles coronation holiday in May as schools to close for the day

Coronation King Charles III North Ayrshire Council

Staff at North Ayrshire Council and pupils and school employees across the community will enjoy an extra day’s holiday in the Spring.

The UK Government previously announced that Monday, May 8 will be marked as an official extra bank holiday to mark King Charles III's Coronation.

It has been agreed that North Ayrshire Council will recognise the additional Bank Holiday, and therefore employees will receive an additional day off to mark the event.
