King Charles charms banquet with jokes during US state visit

King Charles attended a formal state dinner with Donald Trump during his US visit on Tuesday, 28 April.
This historic trip marks the King’s first to the US as monarch and the first state visit by any British monarch since 2007.
The visit commemorates the 250th anniversary of American independence.
During the state banquet, His Majesty delivered a humorous speech, making light-hearted jabs.
He joked about the Boston Tea Party, Mr Trump’s White House project, and the US not speaking French, leaving attendees in fits of giggles.
