King Charles celebrates first birthday as monarch after tense year of family bombshells

Charles Philip Arthur George Prince Harry Queen Mor Palace

The King is marking his first birthday since his accession today as he turns 74. Charles Philip Arthur George was born on November 14, 1948 at Buckingham Palace to the-then Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and was the first grandson of King George VI and The Queen Mother.

While no inside details have been released about how His Majesty will be celebrating his big day, it is hoped he will be able to enjoy it after a tumultuous year involving the death of the Queen, the start of his reign and ongoing family fallouts.
