Piers Morgan fears Harry will seek revenge on Camilla in 'poisonous' tell-all book

King Charles' aides are reportedly "dreading" the upcoming release of Prince Harry's new book over fears it will "target" Camilla, Queen Consort.

Prince Harry has penned a highly-anticipated tell-all memoir, which is due to be published later this year, is set to be a "first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful", the announcement claimed.

However, former Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 57, has claimed 73-year-old Charles' aides are "absolutely dreading" the release of the book.

Writing for the New York Times, Piers said: "One of Charles’ aides told me several months ago that the palace is absolutely dreading the book, fearing it will drip with poisonous new allegations and target his wife, Camilla, as some kind of revenge for her role in the break-up of Harry’s parents’ marriage.

"That conversation, of course, was before the Queen died and when Charles was just Prince of Wales."

The journalist, who has been very vocal in his criticism of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, added that following the Queen's death last week the book's release will now be "devastating" to King Charles.

He added: "But now he’s King, and Camilla is his Queen Consort, and any such attack, coming from the new monarch’s own son, will thus be devastating."

The Duke of Sussex, 37, revealed his rift with his father in his Oprah Winfrey interview last year, where he said he felt "really let down" by his father as he said: "He knows what pain feels like.

"Of course I will always love him but there's a lot of hurt that's happened and I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that."

The pair are said to have struggled to heal their rift since, despite reuniting for Prince Philip's funeral and the Queen's Jubilee.

However, Charles paid tribute to Harry and Meghan, 41, in his first King's speech following the Queen's death. He said he wished to "express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas".

Harry then returned the favour as he mentioned his father in his tribute to the late Queen.

In a statement shared on the couple's Archewell website, Harry penned: "We now honour my father in his new role as King Charles III".

Meanwhile, Piers urged Harry to "tear up his lucrative contract" with Penguin Random House and "cancel the book" for him to truly honour his father.

He said: "So if Harry genuinely wants us to believe he has a desire to 'honour' his father, as he said today, he should tear up his lucrative contract with Penguin Random House and cancel the book.

"If he doesn’t understand why, he should check 'honour' in the dictionary and discover that it means to show 'high respect,' 'great esteem' and 'reverence'."

However, it has been claimed by a royal author that Harry has been "insisting" his memoir will be published in November.

Speaking on GB News' Dan Wootton Tonight, royal author Tom Bower said: "I’m told tonight that Harry is insisting that his book is published in November; it’s astonishing.

"Apparently the publishers are not too certain, but he says if they don’t publish it’s a breach of contract, that’s what I’m told."
