
While he didn't come right out and say it, it looks like Elijah Wood WILL be reprising the role of Frodo Baggins in upcoming spin-off Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.During the promo tour for his new horror movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, the actor candidly stated that he "wouldn't want anybody else" playing the beloved hobbit "as long as [he's] alive and able." "There is a good chance," Wood said of his possible return, when The Times brought up Ian McKellen letting slip of his involvement at London's For the Love of Fantasy convention in August 2025. "I'm not able to officially say anything until it's announced, but I will say I'm thrilled with the prospect of another film. "It's always a little nerve-racking when people talk about new movies for a world like Middle-earth. Everyone gets a little protective and hopes it retains its level of integrity, but this story is fun, thrilling," he continued. "There is a genuine feeling of getting the band back together."
