Kind hearted scooter enthusiasts hand over whole host of Easter eggs at Wishaw General

A team of scooter enthusiasts swooped over to University Hospital Wishaw to hand over a whole host of Easter eggs.

The team arrived at the hospital over the weekend and gave out the chocolate treats.

The event’s organiser John Lavery was delighted with the response.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “We decided to do something in memory of young Hugh McMahon who passed away a few months ago.

“We had been in touch with staff at the hospital so we were delighted to get involved.

“The community team at Tesco in Wishaw also supplied the eggs so we have to thank them as well.”

John has been a scooter enthusiast for a number of years and decided to start an event after a number of successful fundraising initiatives from Lanarkshire bikers over the past few years.

The team were delighted to hand over the eggs to the staff (WSH])

He added: “I was really pleased with the turnout. You couldn’t have asked for much more.

“We set off from Route 66 in Flemington Industrial Estate then went to the hospital before going down for a run and it was a great way to finish off the afternoon.

“It was the first year of doing this so hopefully we can make this happen every year.

“The bikers have been doing a lot of great things so I thought it would be a good idea to get the scooter community involved.

“Everyone was really enthusiastic when I suggested which really blew me away.”
