Kind Angels give West Lothian charity some food for thought

Soul Food Livingston is celebrating six months of its free, home-cooked dinner on a Tuesday tea-time at Mosswood Community Centre in Knightsridge.

And the Knightsridge Angels, kindly donated £100 of their charity funds to purchase aprons for the volunteers.

“It’s simply a token of our appreciation,” said Angel member, Janette Kyle.

Soul Food Livingston manager, Norma Brown, said she is delighted and explained, “We began in December 2022, working in partnership with the Knightsridge Food Outlet, and with funds raised at The Barn Community Café’s ‘Pay it Forward Scheme’.

“Six months on, having received further funding from generous individuals and Soul Food Edinburgh, we are cooking and sharing a hot meal with up to 60 people each week.

“It’s wonderful to see the Knightsridge community of young parents with children, enjoying a meal alongside the elderly.”

Norma and her team of volunteers are inviting everyone to come along and enjoy a hot meal on a Tuesday at 5pm. Just sign up at Mosswood Café counter on the day and a space will be reserved.
