Fans of Kim Kardashian were stunned when she announced that she would be starring in American Horror Story's upcoming season by sharing a very eerie trailer with a lullaby playing in the background.
The 42-year-old reality star broke the news on her social media on Monday that she would be appearing in the twelfth season of the popular show alongside actress Emma Roberts.
And the SKIMS founder teased her fans as she didn't appear in the video clip but confirmed she would be taking part in the hit thriller when filming kicks off in May next month.
The trailer read: "AHS12. Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian are delicate. This summer," and fans couldn't contain their excitement for the Scream Queens actress and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star to join forces.
Kim tweeted the teaser vid and gave no hints away with only two emojis [a pair of eyes and a blood droplet] although some fans believe she could be playing a doll of some sort.
Reacting to the casting, fans squealed with excitement, one tweeted: "No freaking way!!!!!"
Another quipped: "Yessssssss!!! So excited! My 2 favorite people to watch!," whilst someone else added: "ACTING ERA OMGGGG," as Kim takes on her next adventure in the showbiz world.
American Horror Story will return for a 12th run this summer and much like previous seasons, it's expected to feature a mix of returning ensemble players and new stars, with Matt Czuchry also joining.
Creator Ryan Murphy has already teased the forthcoming episodes, previously saying: "It’s one of the biggest shows.
"Sometimes we have big writers rooms. This year, one person is pretty much writing all of them."
The Hollywood Reporter later revealed that Kim's role was 'specifically written' with her in mind, adding that the series will be called 'Delicate' and based on author Danielle Valentine's forthcoming novel, Delicate Condition.
The outlet explained that Kim and series creator Ryan are actually friends, with him being left impressed with her stint as Saturday Night Live host in 2021 and that conversations took place last summer about "crafting a unique role for her scripted TV debut."
In a statement to THR, the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy said: "Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.
"Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done."
Fans may have to wait until September if we are going by last year's schedule to find out exactly what the ultimate storyline will be, as well as the outline and extent of Kim’s role in the series.
Kim's previous acting credits include voicing Delores in 2021's Paw Patrol: The Movie, as well as appearances in Ocean's Eight in 2018 and 2 Broke Girls in 2014.
