The Met Gala is just around the corner and all eyes will be on Kim Kardashian and her outfit choice.
The reality TV star turned lawyer, 42, stuns year in year out at the glitzy bash and last year rocked Marilyn Monroe's iconic gold dress - the dress was worn by the blonde beauty to sing happy birthday to President Kennedy over six decades ago.
This year's theme at the Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, in tribute to the legendary designer who died in 2019 at the age of 85.
While it's not known how Kim can top her 2022 outfit, a fashion expert fully expects the SKIMS founder to go all out to "make Karl Lagerfeld proud".
Fashion expert and author Sophie Hannah told the Mirror: "There’s no doubt she will pull out all the stops. She manages to grab everyone's attention every single Met Gala she attends. With the theme this year being so iconic as a whole I think we can expect Kim to recreate a look from one of Karl Lagerfeld’s archives, with her own Kim K spin on it of course."
Sophie added: "She’s definitely going to recreate one of Karl Lagerfeld’s most iconic looks. Maybe we will see her go more fairy-tale with the iconic pink ruffle gown from 2017. Or something more classic like a little black dress draped in gold chains inspired from the Haute Couture Spring 1992 collection.
"Whatever she does we know it will be a standout moment for her and she will be all over the media."
Sophie admitted that Kim and other Gala goers will "want to do Karl proud and showcase the theme in the best way they can" and fully expects the fashion to be on point on the night.
"Karl Lagerfeld is an icon," she continued. "His passing in 2019 was extremely sad, and this will be the first time that all the big stars can really make him proud at such a big event. It will be magical and one to remember, that’s for sure."
Kim has often spoken out about her relationship with the fashion icon, including the time he gave her mum Kris Jenner a bag which she plans to pass down to North in the future.
Earlier in the week she gave her fans a glimpse of her potential outfit when she posted a snap to Instagram from a lavishly decorated Paris hotel room, with late Chanel designer Karl's cat Choupette.
Looking glamorous with her brunette locks down and perfectly framing her face, the media mogul was pictured gazing at a wall of fashion sketches - with many of them finished off with Karl Lagerfeld's signature.
Her hand was placed on one of the drawings she was looking at which showed a model with an elaborate headpiece on. Many online users speculated whether this was indeed a hint at her Met Gala look for Monday.
