Kim Kardashian’s unique take on Santa Baby featuring a surprise cameo from an A-list star has sparked polarized reactions online.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the reality star, 44, who recorded the Travis Barker-produced track last year, shared the retro-themed video directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and Charlie Denis.
In the clip, the SKIMS entrepreneur dons a blonde wig as she crawls across the floor in an Americana-inspired setting.
Dressed in a baby blue cropped cardigan, vest top, and nude leggings, she moves through a surreal holiday scene, passing a group of elves along the way.
She moves past elves, a choir, businessmen, models playing Twister, bodybuilders, and even Jesus, creating a chaotic holiday tableau.
Shot to resemble a vintage VHS home video, the quirky video ends with close-up cameo of Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin.
However, fans were left puzzled by the video and quickly took to the comments to express their confusion.
One penned: “I am so confused. Kim, what are you doing?” while another shared: ”Am I the only one getting demonic vibes….”
A third added: “What. The. F***. Did I just watch?” and a fourth described it as “the weirdest thing I’ve seen.”
However one fan penned: “I love Kim, so I’d really want to hear what her explanation of the meaning of this is before I judge it.”
Kardashian has ventured into music before, releasing her debut single, Jam (Turn It Up), in 2011. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she later called the song her biggest regret.
She shared: “I don’t like it when people kind of dabble into things they shouldn’t be. And that I don’t think I should have. Like, what gave me the right to think I could be a singer? Like, I don’t have a good voice.”
Recently, she has focused on acting, starring in Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story: Delicate, which debuted in 2023 and 2024.
She’s also executive producing and starring in Murphy's upcoming series All’s Fair. Additionally, her reality show, The Kardashians, was renewed for seasons six and seven at Hulu this summer.
Meanwhile Barker, who is married to Kourtney Kardashian, has produced for artists like Machine Gun Kelly and Avril Lavigne. In 2022, his band Blink-182 reunited with Tom DeLonge and released their latest album, One More Time…, in 2023.
