Kim Kardashian fans have been stunned to find out the reality TV star is set to feature in a huge TV series this summer.
The SKIMS founder, 42, was announced alongside Emma Roberts as stars of FX and Hulu's American Horror Story series 12.
The announcement was made on Instagram by Ryan Murphy Productions. While fans were confused at why Kim wasn't tagged, the star later shared it to her own page.
The reaction to the news was mixed to say the least, with many saying Kim's inclusion is likely to ruin the long-running series.
One user wrote: "Congrats, new way to ruin this show…" while another said: "Why! Why ruin a good thing Ryan??!! A Kardashian…I hope it’s a small part…"
A third was in agreement, adding: "I love Emma Roberts so much but I will not watch this for sure. Poor Emma have to work with Kim K now. Why cant you work with real actors anymore?"
However, one user jumped to Kim's defence, saying she might actually turn out to be a great actress.
Followers were a lot kinder on the announcement post Kim uploaded to her own page, with one exclaiming: "SO EXCITED."
Another followed suit, adding: "Whaaaaaaaat," alongside a number of flame emojis and faces with love heart eyes.
And a third said: "Excited for this!!"
The news of the new cast members comes after it was confirmed there will be at least two more series of the Emmy-winning series.
It's expected that filming will commence next month and earlier this month it was announced that Matt Czuchry of Gilmore Girls and The Good Wife fame is also joining the case.
It's expected that Sarah Paulson isn't making a comeback however, with the actress recently telling Variety : "I’m always open to it, but I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time, and people might start getting sick of me in that world.
"Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second. Other people can do that, too!"
She continued: "Also, my nervous system. There was a time when I was younger when I was like, ‘I can do this all night. I love it!’ Now I’m like, ‘Momma’s tired!'"
