Kim Kardashian's Met Gala appearance always brings the drama and her 2023 showing was no different.
The reality TV star, 42, looked stunning as she rocked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday wearing an extravagant outfit covered in over 50,000 pearls.
The outstanding Schiaparelli dress accentuated her curves perfectly as she opted for a nude corset dripping with pearls.
During a quick chat with Vogue ahead of the shindig, she admitted she wanted to "feel glamorous" at the fashion event of the year and confessed to having a shot with her sisters prior to leaving their hotel room.
The star was met with a wave of praise from some angles for her glamorous look after she shared it to social media.
One user on Twitter gushed on her post: "Stunning ! Simply stunning," while another wrote: "Yesssssssssss Kim," followed by love heart emojis.
Other simply shared flame emojis while some called her their "queen".
However, others took exception to the outfit choice and said she was seemingly paying tribute to herself rather than Karl Lagerfeld.
One Reddit user mocked her, saying: "'My look was inspired by my own Skims, and a conversation I had with my father when I was 4 about Skims and pearls'- probably Kim."
Another agreed, saying: "I still don’t like the bodice, looks like she’s wearing Skims."
A Twitter user added: "Kims met gala outfit is literally just her pearl playboy spread with some skims underneath. #KimKardashian #metgala #throwback #playboy"
A second added: "Kim Kardashian's #metgala outfit looks like the photoshop she did for Playboy magazine on #KUWTK years ago."
And a third said: " Kim Kardashian ’s look referenced her playboy shoot more than Karl."
Kim was joined at the gala by sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner. Kylie wore a sensational red Jean Paul Gaultier asymmetric dress which hugged her incredible figure while she chose a masterful two-toned robe made of a light blue silky material to match.
She opted to wear her hair in a stylish up-do while showcasing very little jewellery.
Kendall, meanwhile, wore a sequin leotard with caped sleeves which she paired with huge heeled boots.
