Daniel Armstrong admits he’s “really excited” about the future at Kilmarnock.
The winger is back in pre-season with his teammates at Largs this week and after a season of fighting relegation he’s determined to be looking up rather than down.
The club’s Player of the Year is aiming to kick-on after his best ever season in football.
Armstrong said: “I had been saying all season that it was not about me, but I must admit it was a good feeling to score on the final day against Ross County to help ensure we stayed up.
“It was a great, great feeling and it made me so happy for everyone involved with the club.
“All the fans, staff, wonderful people.
“We knew that safety was the main priority for the season and we got it.
“It’s important to regroup and whoever is going to be here will know that this club deserves more than just staying up in the Premiership.
“It deserves as much as we can give them and that is what we are trying to do.
“The reason you get into and play football is for the feelings it can give to you.
“The feelings when we stayed up were great.”
He added: “Honestly, I’m so, so excited about what lies ahead of the club.
“When you saw what Rugby Park was like on the final day of the season, you want more and more of that every single
week.
“The only way we are going to get that is if everyone is performing on the pitch.
“It was a tough, tough season. Lots of highs and lows and now it is just a case of everyone getting raring to go again.”
