Kilmarnock discover third round European opponents

Kilmarnock have discovered their Europa League third qualifying round opponents should they overcome Cercle Brugge.

Killie or Cercle will face off against either Molde or Silkeborg. The first leg on Thursday, August 8 will be played away, with the return leg at home on August 15.

Derek McInnes' team are in first-leg action this Thursday as they welcome Juplier Pro League side Cercle Brugge to Ayrshire.

The second leg against Miron Muslic's team will take place next week on Thursday, August 1 in the city in the north of Belgium.

Now, we know that the winner of the second-round qualifier will progress to play in either Norway or Denmark.

The loser of the two-legged encounter will drop into the Europa Conference League.

The draw for that competition is made at 1pm UK time.

Here, either Killie or Brugges will come up against KuPS Kuopio or Tromso.

The first leg will be played at home, with the return leg away.

Meanwhile, Kilmarnock are trying to finalise the signing of Corrie Ndaba before this week's Europa League first-leg match against Cercle Brugge.

The defender, 24, is not part of Ipswich Town's plans following their promotion to the English Premier League and is free to find a new club.

Killie struck a deal with the Tractor Boys earlier in the summer with regards to a fee for the Irishman.

However, Derek McInnes has been made to play the waiting game as Ndaba still has 12 months remaining on his contract at Portman Road. The player and the club have been working on agreeing to a financial settlement package.

It's understood the Ayrshire side are pushing to get the permanent transfer through before Tuesday's deadline to submit their squad for the Europa League encounter against Cercle Brugge.
