Callum Slattery was Motherwell's hero as his late free kick cracker earned his side a valuable point against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Scott Robinson's first-half strike looked to be earning Killie a second win over Motherwell in Ayrshire this season, but Slattery had other ideas, curling a superb free kick into the top right corner.
The Steelmen's resurgence means they stay three points ahead of their hosts.
Robinson got Killie on their way midway through the first half and it's hard to say even that was deserved at that point.
Both sides pretty much cancelled each other out in a scrappy first half. Motherwell too often gave possession away cheaply, but Killie didn't do a lot with the possession they had.
The second half was better, both from Motherwell and generally speaking, but both sides still contrived to make avoidable errors.
Still, the visitors posed much more of a threat, although Dean Cornelius was responsible for two of those before picking up a knock and being replaced by Callum Slattery.
Kevin van Veen and Paul McGinn tested keeper Sam Walker with raking efforts, but couldn't force an equaliser.
But Slattery's free kick made all the difference.
Killie boss Derek McInnes made five changes to the side that lost at Hibs. Ash Taylor, Alan Power, Liam Polworth, Scott Robinson and Christian Doidge came in for Chris Stokes, Blair Alston, Brad Lyons, Jordan Jones and suspended Kyle Vassell.
Kettlewell again kept faith with the side that beat Hearts 2-0 last Sunday.
Killie's Danny Armstrong had the first serious attempt on goal in six minutes, but his low shot flew past the right post.
The hosts took the lead in 17 minutes when Danny Armstrong's corner from the right wasn't cleared, Joe Wright's header was blocked, and Robinson pounced to slam the rebound into the net.
Killie nearly did the same thing in 28 minutes when Armstrong's corner from the right was headed by Doidge but this time it was blocked.
Blair Spittal saw a shot blocked in first -half stoppage time as Motherwell tried to get their way back into the game.
Killie tried to put the game beyond doubt in 48 minutes when Doidge was sent through on goal and he went down under a challenge by Dan Casey, but it looked to be good.
Motherwell raced up the other end and Job Obika saw a shot well blocked by Sam Walker in the Killie goal.
Rory McKenzie's deflected effort dropped into Liam Kelly's arms in 58 minutes.
Dean Cornelius was sent through on goal in 60 minutes, but Wright reacted superbly to shepherd the ball back to Walker.
Motherwell broke upfield in 64 minutes and Cornelius did well before providing ammunition to James Furlong on the overlap, but his angled shot was well held by Walker.
Van Veen stung Walker's palms with a shot from about 16 yards in 71 minutes, but the Killie keeper pushed it away for a corner.
McGinn also tested Walker with a piledriver in 81 minutes, but the keeper was equal to it.
But Slattery stormed a free kick into the top right corner to snatch a point in the last minute.
