A murderer who bludgeoned his mum to death with a hammer then splashed out on a Jaguar using her money has been told to pay up more than £100,000.
Robert Child transferred tens of thousands of pounds out of his mother Janice's bank account moments after brutally killing her in her Woolton home, then bought the luxury car with the money. The former University of Liverpool sports psychologist was today ordered to repay his ill-gotten gains at Liverpool Crown Court.
The court previously heard that he struck the 64-year-old more than 30 times with the weapon on March 5 2020 at the address on Kings Drive before locking her bloodied body in the utility room. Ms Child was found dead by neighbours in the early hours of the following day after neighbours were alerted by her barking dog.
