Killer's mate jailed for helping dump Carly McBride's body

Carly Dawn McBride was murdered by her boyfriend Sayle Newson on September 30, 2014. Newson's mate, James Anthony Cunneen, was in July found guilty of being an accessory after the fact, a jury finding he helped dump her body and cover up the crime.

JAMES Anthony Cunneen, who helped dump the body of murdered mother Carly McBride and lied to police to protect her killer, has been jailed for a maximum of seven-and-a-half years on Friday.

Cunneen, now 31, was in July found guilty of being an accessory after the fact to murder over the brutal death of Ms McBride, a jury finding he knew all along what happened to the "missing" mother.
