A killer faces a driving ban when he's finally freed from a life sentence.
Thomas Duris was one of three men convicted last week of murdering Blantyre dad Graham Williamson.
Mr Williamson, 26, was shot in his back garden on Caithness Street in August 2020.
Duris, 28, Derek Felvus, 25, and James Baillie, 26, were found guilty after trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
They face automatic life sentences, but the judge will decide later this month how long each must serve before being eligible to apply for release.
Duris appeared from custody at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday on a charge of dangerous driving.
HIs solicitor, Elspeth Forrest, said he faces a "significant" sentence for Graham's murder.
Sheriff Andrew McIntyre said the dangerous driving case "pales into insignificance" in that context, but pointed out that he must by law impose a driving ban.
That would not take effect until he is freed from prison.
Duris, of Comely Bank, Hamilton, admitted driving dangerously on The Loaning and other Motherwell streets in April 2020.
The court heard that officers in an unmarked police car signalled for his Audi to stop shortly before midnight.
Duris put on his hazard lights and pulled into the side of the road.
Police officers produced warrant cards as they approached to speak to him, but he accelerated away and his car went into a wheel spin before he turned into Logans Road.
The officers followed and noted that Duris drove at excessive speed and in an "aggressive" manner through streets in the area.
Eventually, he returned to The Loaning before turning on to Hamilton Road.
The police lost sight of him, but traced him later.
HIs solicitor said Duris didn't realise the men who approached him from an unmarked car were police officers.
Sheriff McIntyre continued the case until after Duris is sentenced at the High Court.
