Joshua Molnar fatally stabbed Yousef Makki with a flick knife on March 2, 2019.
Yousef, 17, was stabbed during a row in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester. Molnar, who was also 17 at the time, was cleared of manslaughter and murder and an inquest later recorded a narrative conclusion.
He claimed self-defence and was cleared by a jury at Manchester Crown Court. Molnar was later jailed for possession of a knife in a public place and perverting the course of justice by lying to police at the scene.

When police arrived, Molnar was shirtless, as he was using the garment to apply pressure to Yousef's chest. He told the officer he "didn't know" what had happened, and that he'd seen a silver hatchback flee the scene.
Molnar initially said Yousef walked ahead of him and Chowdhary, and that when they turned the corner they saw him fall to the floor. He said they ran over to find Yousef "coughing up blood".
Molnar was jailed for 16 months, while Chowdhary was acquitted of perverting the course of justice following a trial at Manchester Crown Court. He was given a four-month detention and training order after admitting possession of a flick knife.
Police body-cam footage of the aftermath of the stabbing was played during his 2019 trial and an inquest last year, where a coroner refused a media application led by the Manchester Evening News for it to be released.
But now it is to be published as part of a Channel 4 documentary Killed By A Rich Kid which will be broadcast tonight (Monday) at 9pm. It was obtained following a long legal battle by the makers of the documentary.
Molnar was a pupil at a £33,000 a year private school when his stabbed his classmate. He was released from prison in February 2020, seven months into his sentence, the Mirror reports.
