Kilkenny face Clare in the second of this weekend's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-finals after the battle of Limerick and Galway the previous day.
The Cats have not lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup in eight years, which is a baron spell in Kilkenny, and they lost to Limerick in last year's decider.
Clare are back aiming to reach a final for the first time since they defeated Cork to become All-Ireland champions a decade ago.
