Kieran Tierney would 'consider' Celtic transfer return as Arsenal future remains uncertain while Newcastle waver

Kieran Tierney would 'consider' a return to Celtic on loan as he weighs up his options this summer.

The Scotland star is behind Oleksandr Zinchenko in the Arsenal picking order and looked set to depart the Emirates this summer with game time under Mikel Arteta being hard to come by last season. But the Gunners are keen to keep Tierney in North London and a new deal could be offered. Newcastle have been heavily linked with a move for Terney but the Magpies have now been linked with Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters, who would be a cheaper and more versatile alternative.

Now the Scottish Sun claim that Tierney would think about a return to his boyhood club on loan under Brendan Rodgers, although only after evaluating all of his options this summer. A permanent deal is out of the question, with Tierney valued at £30million and earning £120,000 per week at Arsenal.

But reuniting with Brendan Rodgers may appeal. The irishman was the boss that Tierney flourished under at Parkhead, racking up winners medals and Scotland caps before a £25million switch to the English Premier League.

However, Tierney is likely to have suitors with deeper pockets, who can offer him a salary Celtic can't hope to match. A long term contract and security are also going to be hard to turn down elsewhere.

The lure of Champions League group stage football is another thing Celtic have going for them. But so do a host of other top European clubs who are likely to be keeping a keen eye on Tierney's situation.
