Kieran Tierney Arsenal transfer chase heats up as second EPL side 'target' Celtic diehard

The transfer chase for Kieran Tierney looks set to hot up as a second English Premier League look ready to move for the Arsenal star, according to a report.

The Celtic diehard has found regular game-time hard to come by under Mikel Arteta this season as the Gunners' hopes of lifting the English Premier League title face a major battle after the relentless form of Manchester City - including a thumping win over the North London outfit.

Scotland international Tierney has been a regular on the bench with any minutes on the park mostly coming in the latter stages of games due to the form of summer recruit Oleksandr Zinchenko with the full-back looking likely to depart the Emirates.

Newcastle have a long standing interest in the former Hoops star with Eddie Howe and his troops seen as the front runners to capture his signature. But the Telegraph reports that Unai Emery is keen on a reunion with the left-back. Villa are chasing European football for next season but the Toon Army are on the verge of securing Champions League football and that could help them seal the deal.

It comes as Villa also consider ambitious moves for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic and Barcelona winger Ferran Torres as well as weighing up a move for KT states the same report.

Former Rangers midfielder Arteta and his men are one point behind Pep Guardiola's superstars at the league summit - but have played a game more.

They face a tough run in starting with a trip to third-place Newcastle next time out before a home clash with Brighton - who defeated Manchester United last night.

It's then relegation battlers Nottingham Forest before rouding off the campaign against Wolves at the Emirates.
