Kieran Tierney potentially leaving Arsenal for Newcastle United would limit the Gunners' options.
That is the view of former Arsenal captain William Gallas who claims a side like Mikel Arteta's must have multiple 'quality players' in each position if they are to continue their plight for success. Arsenal are in a healthy position to capture what would be a historic English Premier League title but Scotland cap Tierney hasn't play a diminished role this campaign.
The 25-year-old has been second fiddle to Ukraine star Oleksandr Zinchenko and has seen the promise of game time dissipate in recent months. The former Celtic star has made over 100 appearances at the Emirates since making the big switch from Parkhead but Gallas insists Arsenal would miss the 'competition' the defender brings currently.

Gallas told Genting Casino: "You always need two quality players in every position if you want to be successful in the Premier League.
"If Tierney goes to Newcastle, then they won’t have that competition. You have to find the best solution for all of the parties because I’m sure Tierney wants to play more regularly.
"Arsenal need to have good, young players who are waiting to come through and prove their quality."
CBS Sports Golazo reporter Jacobs Ben also stated on Tierney's future: "Kieran Tierney could leave Arsenal after seeing his minutes diminished this season.
"Tierney held face-to-face talks with Arteta to better understand his future and was encouraged to fight for his place. So an exit is not guaranteed."
