Kid Rock Mocked by Viewers for Poorly Lip-Synced Set at Turning Point USA’s Rival Super Bowl Halftime Show

He stormed the stage yelling “My name is KIDDDDD ROCKKKKKK”, but some viewers joked Kid Rock looked more like Ashlee Simpson and Milli Vanilli because of his “horrible” lip syncing during Turning Point USA’s “All-American” halftime show on Super Bowl Sunday.

The veteran rocker, rapper, and country crooner was the headliner and final performer of the event, and he arrived with loads of energy. He launched into his 1998 hit “Bawitdaba,” but things quickly started to unravel, with close-up camera shots making it pretty obvious Kid Rock was lip-syncing his way through most of the song. And he seemed to be struggling to keep the act going.

There were plenty of shots showing Kid Rock’s voice booming out while fans cheered from both sides of the stage. The only issue was that his mouth was barely moving.

He bounced around the stage and ripped his black bowler hat off to keep things as high octane as possible, while flames shot up around him. Behind him was a massive American flag with his name flashing in yellow lights.

But none of that stopped a number of people from noticing the lip-syncing, and they were quick to jump on X to share their thoughts.

“Kid Rock’s lip syncing is even more egregious than Ashlee Simpson and Millie Vanilli,” one user posted. On the bright side for TP USA, the show still pulled in a huge audience. At its peak, around 5 million people were livestreaming on YouTube, at least as far as Mediaite could see.

The event did have some standout moments, including multiple shout-outs to TP USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“Well, Charlie gave people microphones so they could say what’s on their mind,” country singer Lee Brice said before launching into an emotional performance. “This is what’s on mine.”

The show kicked off with an electric guitar version of the Star Spangled Banner before rolling straight into performances from Brantley Gilbert and Gabby Barrett. Both appeared to go off without a hitch.

TP USA’s halftime show was promoted as an alternative for MAGA fans who did not want to watch Bad Bunny perform during the Super Bowl. That came just one week after he criticised the Trump administration’s ICE raids during the Grammy Awards.

President Donald Trump’s White House also reposted TP USA’s X post about the halftime show right as it started.
