Khloe Kardashian tells fans she had ‘incredibly rare’ tumour removed from her face

Khloe Kardashian has told her fans she recently had surgery to remove a tumour from her face which doctors deemed “incredibly rare” for someone her age.

The Keeping up With the Kardashians star, 38, posted a series of images to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to reveal she underwent the procedure after noticing a blemish – which she assumed was a “zit” – had not changed for months. Sharing a close-up of her cheek, she wrote: “After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied seven months after realizing it was not budging.”

She went on to explain she had the bump biopsied after examination from two dermatologists, who deemed it “incredibly rare" for someone her age. Just a few days later, she was told she would need an “immediate operation” to remove the tumour from her face.

The reality star – who in July welcomed a baby boy with ex Tristan Thompson – contacted family friend and Beverly Hills surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher to perform the procedure. She added: “I’m grateful to share that Dr. Fisher was able to get everything — all my margins appear clear and now we are onto the healing process.”

She said she will likely have a scar and an indentation on her cheek following the removal of the tumour, and will be wearing a bandage to conceal it, which she intends to make look “fabulous.” Khloe said she chose to share her story to remind everyone to “get checked frequently.”

“At 19 years old, I had a melanoma on my back, so I am pre-composed to melanomas,” she added. “Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time.”

She said despite wearing sunscreen “religiously,” “no one is exempt” from skin conditions. “Please take this seriously and do regular self-exams as well as our annual checkups,” she wrote.
