Khloe Kardashian supports ex Tristan Thompson after the sudden death of his mum

Khloe Kardashian offered her support to ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson after the sudden death of his mum.

The Good American founder was seen stepping off a private jet in Canada with the NBA player after his mum Andrea passed away on Thursday evening.

She was reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack at home and, despite the best efforts of the medics, they were unable to save her.

Tristan, who shares two children with Khloe, left Los Angeles as soon as he heard the heartbreaking news.

The publication also reported that Khloe was very close to Andrea and was "keen to support Tristan" with his grief, despite their split.

As well as welcoming a son born via surrogate with Khloe four months ago, he is also the father of a six-year-old boy named Prince with ex Jordan Craig.

He also fathered 13-month-old son Theo with Maralee Nichols – whom he cheated on Khloe with. Khloe and Tristan split after it was revealed Maralee was pregnant.

Tristan's mother Andrea had three other sons Amari, Dishawn and Daniel with her ex-husband Trevor Thompson.

His youngest brother Amari has a neurological disorder and experiences daily seizures as a result of his condition.

To help raise awareness, Tristan founded the Amari Thompson Fund, which works closely with Epilepsy Toronto.

The charities raise money and supports those affected by the illnesses.

In October 2016, Tristan talked about his relationship with his mum, who worked as a school bus driver.

He said that the pair talked daily, and said that he's "so lucky to have been chosen as her son".

He told NBA.com at the time: "Even though I don't live at home and I'm four hours away from home, I talk to my mom every day – ask how the kids are doing, ask how she's doing, too.

"Everyone knows that my mom, she's very dedicated in taking care of her sons – especially Amari. But at the same time, you need to make sure that she's okay.

"It's asking a lot for one parent to do, so I always try to make sure that she's doing well, too. Whether she's getting a massage or just get out of the house and have a babysitter watch for a couple hours, that's crucial."

Sharing a photo of the pair of them on his social media a few years back, he wrote the caption: "'Happy Mother’s Day Mommy! One day isn’t enough to praise and lift you high. Everyday is your day.

"Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and my brothers. I love you and I’m soo lucky to have been chosen as your son[heart emoji]. Not all superheroes wear capes."
