Khloe Kardashian reportedly changed her baby's surname to match that of her son's father Tristan Thompson.
The reality TV star had initially given her son the Kardashian family name before having a change of heart and changing it to match his sister True Thompson.
After keeping her baby boy's name a secret, she finally shared that he'd been named Tatum Robert Thompson, taking the middle name from her late father Robert Kardashian.
"It took Khloe a little while to settle on the name but ultimately she went with Tatum Robert, which is in keeping with Tristan and True's names starting with a T," a source told the Daily Mail.
"Khloe wanted a name that was kind of unusual but not too out there and also keeping with the T theme."
Khloe shares True, five and Tatum, 11 months, with the NBA star, but her relationship with the father of her two kids hasn't been easy and it's believed that the cheating scandals that plagued her relationship with Tristan played a part when naming her son.
Sources close to the family told TMZ : "Tatum Thompson, as he's now known, was initially legally a Kardashian.
"Khloe decided to drop the Kardashian name for Thompson, and that's now Tatum's legal name moving forward."
The insider also added that Tatum wasn't Khloe's first choice for the 11-month-old's first name, but they are "unsure what first name Khloe originally chose for him."
Khloe and Tristan announced in July 2022 that they were due to have their second child together via surrogate. The news came after he had gotten his personal trainer Maralee Nichols pregnant.
Marlee later gave birth to their son, Theo, and later claimed that Tristan was "single and coparenting" when she first met Tristan.
“I met Tristan in 2020 at a party at his home in Encino, California, he told me he was single and coparenting. I would never have gotten involved with Tristan if I thought he was in a relationship.”
