This isn’t something you see every day.
Ahead of UFC 279 in Las Vegas on Saturday, ahead of a fight against Nate Diaz, Khazmat Chimaev came in weighing in at 178.5 pounds.
I guess that wouldn’t be too much of a big deal … except that’s a whopping 7.5 POUNDS over the welterweight limit.
He was given one more hour to make weight, but I’m pretty sure it’s not humanly possible to shed 7.5 pounds in 60 minutes.
What’s more, Chimaev actually said, “Not bad!” after the weight was announced, which is just wild.
What will happen with this fight? We’ll see. Here’s some reaction from the UFC world:
This really happened
178.5 for @KChimaev. He will have an additional hour to make the weight.

Baffled at how juvenile these professionals are handling themselves.
Do your job, make weight, fight IN the cage, move on. Y’all taking about real gangsters and shit when you can’t even articulate yourselves nor compose a proper fucking sentence.
So much bravado and now look.
