A KFC meal cost a Renfrew dad £720 after he lost the plot and punched the manager when complaining about the eatery’s toilets.
Kenneth Scott, 51, grabbed the fast-food restaurant manager by the neck and punched him on the back of the head after complaining about the lack of loo roll and hand soap.
Scott, of Craigielea Park in Renfrew, admitted the assault, which took place in the town’s Braille Crescent branch on April 23.

On Friday at Paisley Sheriff Court, Sheriff Lindsay Kooner slammed Scott’s actions as “unacceptable”, ordering him to pay £400 in compensation to his victim for the nasty attack.
Sheriff Kooner also fined Scott £320 ordering he pays this at £100 per month, warning him: “Make sure this comes out of your pocket and not the family’s funds.”
Prosecutor Jason Stark previously told the court: “Around 6.40pm the victim was working as a manager in the store.
“The accused came up to the counter complaining he was dissatisfied with the male toilets.
“Due to the nature of the complaint an inspection was carried out.
“Once in the male toilets, the manager deemed them satisfactory.
“This angered the accused and he grabbed the manager by the neck and punched him on the back of the head.
“The police were contacted and they arrived at 6.55pm and arrested the accused.”
Defence agent on the last calling, Kevin Brady told the court that the state of the loos was much worse than the Crown had narrated.
Mr Brady explained: “Mr Scott attended the restaurant with his wife and son, and while his wife was ordering the food he went to the toilet.
“His wife sent their son to ask Mr Scott what he wanted to order and he had to ask his son to go get toilet paper.
“There was no lock on the door and no soap in the dispenser. His wife also stated there was no toilet paper in the female toilets.”
Mr Brady said Scott, who previously worked in security at Glasgow Airport, felt the toilets were a “disgrace.”
He added: “Given it’s finger food and in times of covid, Mr Scott felt the toilets where unhygienic. He had been left standing at the counter for 20 minutes before he was spoken to. When he showed the manager that there was no soap in the dispenser, he was told ‘If you are smart enough you’ll figure it out.’
“He thought he was treated absolutely disgracefully and it was a momentary lapse and he acted in the way the narration describes.”
On Friday, solicitor, Tony Callaghan added that Scott was “embarrassed” by the incident.
He added: “He is really at a loss and is embarrassed about his reaction on this day.
“He is ashamed and the background report also shows that.
“He is employed, is married and has three children, he has previously been of good character and his family are also ashamed of his actions this day.”
Sentencing, Sheriff Kooner said: “It’s really inexplicable how someone of your previous good character and good work ethic would behave in the manner that you did and it’s completely unacceptable.”
