Drugs labelled with KFC and Pokémon stickers were found after a driver rammed a police van.
A driver of a Vauxhall Insignia failed to stop for Merseyside Police officers on August 3 this year who were conducting a county lines drug dealing operation in Southport. In order to evade officers, the driver rammed the police van and caused damage before making off and abandoning the vehicle just over the border into Lancashire.
When officers searched the car it was found to contain an amount of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police said in the weeks following enquiries and investigations they located the driver and his home address was identified.

A man from Lancashire was arrested on Wednesday, October 5, on suspicion of failing to stop for police, suspicion of dangerous driving, and suspicion of possession of class B drugs. Following a search of his home address, around £20,000 worth of class B drugs were recovered plus £5,000 in cash.
Drug paraphernalia and a large 2ft zombie knife was also found. The man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with Intent to supply, possession of criminal property, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Officers from the Sefton Police branch of Merseyside Police shared photos on Facebook of the drugs, including some labelled with KFC and Pokémon stickers. Another image showed damage to the front of the police van after it was rammed.
Sergeant Leach from Southport Local Policing said: “We will continue to work to combat cross border crime. This result sends a message to those who consider committing cross border crime, that causing misery and harm to our communities will be dealt with robustly.”
