Alexander Isak has revealed that Keylor Navas tried to get in his head because the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper 'kind of knew' he was going to take Newcastle United's penalty.
With the score level at 1-1, Newcastle were awarded a spot-kick at the death at the City Ground on Friday night after Isak's header struck the arm of Forest defender Moussa Niakhate inside the box. With usual penalty taker Callum Wilson on the bench, logic suggested it would be Isak who stepped up in the number nine's absence after he previously took a spot-kick against Bournemouth. However, it was stand-in skipper Kieran Trippier who grabbed the ball initially and placed it on the spot.
Trippier smiled as he stood over the ball and, having tired to speak to Isak, Navas received a booking for then going over to the England international and putting his hands on him. Trippier calmly picked up the ball and walked away from the Forest number one, taking the heat out of the situation for a few precious seconds, before handing the ball to Isak.

Isak may have had to contend with deafening boos from the Forest fans, but the record signing was the coolest man in the stadium as he sent a rooted Navas the wrong way and confidently dispatched the penalty to win the game for the visitors. Isak raised a finger to his lips as he ran past Navas to celebrate after not letting the shot-stopper put him off.
"Sometimes, you might fool the opposition," Isak told Sky Sports after the 2-1 victory. "The goalie, Keylor, kind of knew I was going to take it so he came straight to me and tried to get in my head. We did our best."
