Key Tigers back, Petty sidelined for Dees

Richmond have regained Dylan Grimes and Kane Lambert for their clash with West Coast, while Melbourne's Harrison Petty has joined three teammates and coach Simon Goodwin in COVID-19 isolation.

Co-captain Grimes returns from a hamstring injury for Friday's match in Perth while Lambert, utility Sydney Stack and youngster Maurice Rioli will play their first games of the AFL season.

Ivan Soldo and Maurice Rioli also return for the Tigers with Matthew Parker, Jack Ross and Rhyan Mansell dropped.

Dustin Martin won't return this week and Trent Cotchin and Robbie Tarrant have been managed while Thomson Dow misses through injury.

West Coast regain star defender Jeremy McGovern (COVID protocols) against the Tigers, while mature-age recruit Greg Clark will debut and Sam Petrevski-Seton has been recalled.

Andrew Gaff is an emergency and could be the substitute, while Elliot Yeo (concussion), Luke Foley (COVID-19 protocols) and Bailey Williams (hamstring) are unavailable.

Melbourne coach Goodwin and young guns Luke Jackson, Kysaiah Pickett and Tom Sparrow were ruled out on Wednesday, with Petty joining them on Thursday.

But stand-in coach Adem Yze will regain midfielder Jack Viney and defender Jake Lever from the league's health and safety protocols while Tom McDonald and Toby Bedford have been recalled.

The Hawks have handed a debut to forward Jackson Callow.

Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield won't face Fremantle, sidelined for a second week with his calf injury, along with Jack Henry (foot).

Fremantle's Josh Treacy and Lloyd Meek replace Matt Taberner (hamstring) and Sean Darcy (concussion).

St Kilda regain Paddy Ryder from suspension against Port Adelaide and, with Rowan Marshall (corked thigh) and Jack Hayes (ACL) unavailable, have called upon journeyman Tom Campbell.

The Power have named Aliir Aliir and Robbie Gray despite injury concerns.

The Western Bulldogs have dropped former No.1 pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan from their extended squad for Sunday's clash with Essendon, who have named Darcy Parish despite an ankle injury.

Bulldog Anthony Scott is out through COVID-19 protocols but Laitham Vandermeer and Mitch Wallis are among five inclusions.

GWS' Jesse Hogan will return against Adelaide after he was rested for their loss to St Kilda, while rookie Cooper Hamilton will debut.

Carlton have named George Hewett and Harry McKay to face North Melbourne despite injury scares, while Matthew Kennedy and Jack Silvagni are among four inclusions.

Marc Pittonet (knee) and Luke Parks (foot) are unavailable.

With key defender Ben McKay (suspension) and ruckman Tristan Xerri (foot) sidelined, North Melbourne have recalled Callum Coleman-Jones and Aiden Bonar, while Jaidyn Stephenson returns from illness.

Tom Papley is in Sydney's extended squad to face Brisbane, with Paddy McCartin and Logan McDonald both out with concussion.

With Brodie Grundy and Nathan Kreuger sidelined, Mason Cox is in Collingwood's extended squad to face Gold Coast.
