Key Republican is missing from GOP’s Dallas convention raising questions about tensions with Trump

John Thune is noticeably absent from the speaker lineup for the Republican convention in Dallas this week amid reports of a possible rift with President Donald Trump as the Senate leader fights desperately to protect a GOP’s majority.

Thune will still attend the two-day convention in Texas, which this year is also hosting a key Senate race.
