Brunner highlighted that the suspect's decision to remove his mask during a flirtatious exchange with a hostel clerk was a critical error. This action provided investigators with a clear image of his face, aiding in the identification process. Additionally, the suspect's choice to wear a backpack that could be traced back to him and stay at a high-traffic hostel may further work against him.
