The battle for control of the House of Representatives is intensifying as both Republicans and Democrats strive to secure a majority. Currently, Republicans hold 212 seats while Democrats have 200, with 218 seats needed for a majority.

The path to victory for Democrats is becoming narrower, requiring them to win key contested races to gain power. Many undecided seats are located in the western U.S. and swing districts such as Arizona, Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Louisiana, Ohio, Maryland, New York, Maine, and Alaska.

Key House of Representative Races:
Alaska’s At-Large Congressional District:

In Alaska’s at-large congressional district, Democratic incumbent Rep. Mary Sattler Peltola is in a tight race against Republican entrepreneur Nick Begich, with Begich currently leading by a small margin.

Arizona’s 6th Congressional District:
Key undecided House seats in western U.S. and swing districts.

The race in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District is closely contested, with Republican Rep. Juan Ciscomani holding a slight lead over former Democratic state lawmaker Kirsten Engel.

California’s 13th Congressional District:

Republican Rep. John Duarte is leading former Democratic state Assembly member Adam Gray in California’s 13th Congressional District, with the outcome still pending as votes continue to be counted.

California’s 47th Congressional District:

The battle to succeed outgoing Democratic Rep. Katie Porter in California’s 47th Congressional District is neck and neck between Republican Scott Baugh and Democrat Dave Min.

Colorado’s 8th Congressional District:

In Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, Democrat Rep. Yadira Caraveo is trailing behind Republican state Rep. Gabe Evans, potentially leading to a Republican flip in the district.

While Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana believes the House will remain in GOP hands, Democrats are hopeful of securing a razor-thin majority. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York emphasized that the final outcome is yet to be determined, citing ongoing ballot counting in key states like Oregon, Arizona, and California.
