Key bridge on A9 in Scottish city closed due to police incident

A KEY bridge in Inverness has been closed due to a police incident.

The road along the Kessock Bridge, located in the north of the Highland city which crosses over to the Black Isle, has been closed in both directions since about 7am.

It has been reported that police officers remain at the scene.

Traffic Scotland has confirmed the bridge is closed to traffic southbound and northbound and have advised motorists to find an alternative route.

An online update from Traffic Scotland read: “The A9 at the Kessock Bridge is closed in both directions due to an ongoing police incident.

“Road users are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
