Kevin Spacey Denies New Allegations Ahead Of Documentary Release

Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey has refuted fresh claims of inappropriate behavior from men who will be featured in an upcoming documentary on British television. In an online interview, Spacey maintained his innocence, stating that he has never engaged in illegal activities. He expressed the challenges he has faced in returning to work following his acquittal last year on criminal charges in a London court.

Spacey's interview, titled “Kevin Spacey: Right Of Reply,” was broadcast on journalist Dan Wootton’s YouTube channel. The actor was acquitted by a London jury in July on sexual assault charges dating back two decades. This marked his second legal victory after successfully defending against a $40 million lawsuit in New York in 2022.

The documentary, “Spacey Unmasked,” is scheduled to air on May 6 and 7 on Channel 4 in Britain and will be streamed on Max in the U.S. It reportedly includes testimonies from men recounting events spanning from 1976 to 2013, as revealed by Spacey during the interview.

While acknowledging his past behavior and actions, Spacey refused to apologize to individuals he believes have fabricated or exaggerated stories about him. He denied ever using promises of career advancement in exchange for sexual favors and admitted to being a “flirt” with men in their 20s, occasionally making “clumsy” advances.

Spacey expressed frustration over the limited time provided by Channel 4 to respond to the allegations in the documentary, emphasizing his desire for a more extensive opportunity to address the claims. He highlighted his previous successful defenses against accusations and lamented the impact on his career since the initial allegations surfaced in 2017 amid the #MeToo movement.

The actor described his post-acquittal struggle to resume his acting career as a “life sentence,” noting the adverse effects on his professional life, including the loss of his lead role in the Netflix series “House of Cards.”

Channel 4 has been approached for comment regarding the upcoming documentary and Spacey's statements.
