Kevin Sinfield was greeted by Rob Burrow at their beloved Headingley on Friday, after the former completed his sixth ultramarathon. Sinfield completed the penultimate day of his seven-day 300-mile challenge from Edinburgh to Manchester.
The former Leeds Rhinos man has taken on the challenge to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) charities, with friend and former teammate Burrow the inspiration behind the run after being diagnosed with the illness in 2019.
During another gruelling day on his body, Sinfield was given a lift during Friday's leg after embracing with Burrow after arriving at Headingley, the home of the former club.
The 42-year-old arrived at the Leeds Rhinos stadium to a huge crowd cheering him on after setting off from York Minster on Friday morning. But the most important man in the crowd though was of course his ex-teammate.
Upon arriving at Headingley, Sinfield made his way through the cheering locals and into the arms of Burrow who was waiting outside the stadium entrance. Unsurprisingly emotional, the 42-year-old then shared a hug with his close friend.
Following his stop in Leeds, Sinfield then completed the final part of his penultimate leg by heading over to Bradford where he arrived at Bradford City's Valley Parade Stadium.
The former Rhinos star's final stretch will come tomorrow, as he makes his way to Manchester to finish the challenge at the Rugby League World Cup final at Old Trafford.
The Rugby League star will leave Bradford on Saturday morning and pass through Halifax, before crossing the Yorkshire-Lancashire boarder through Oldham. Sinfield will then head down Rochdale Canal and finally finish at Old Trafford where Australia will take on Tonga.
