Twitter exploded Sunday afternoon when the bombshell news broke that the Wizards were trading star shooting guard Bradley Beal to the Suns to form the NBA’s newest superteam. Many of the reactions indicated shock, but Trail Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkić found it hilarious and took the opportunity to take a shot at Kevin Durant.
“Brooklyn situation all all over again,” Nurkić wrote on Twitter with a laughing emoji.
The Portland center is referencing Durant’s collaboration with Kyrie Irving and James Harden that ultimately crashed out burned. The Nets trio played just 16 games together, owing to injuries and Irving’s off-the-court issues.

This time, Durant hopes everything will work out better with Beal and Devin Booker. Phoenix now seems to have all the firepower in the world and still boasts Deandre Ayton’s defensive presence in the middle. After the blockbuster deal, the Suns are easily one of the favorites to win it all in 2024—just don’t tell Nurkić.
