While on “The Boardroom,” Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant spoke highly of his former organization in the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Durant praised the Thunder for their youthful talent and gushed over how great of a player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is.
“They got some solid basketball players over there… Lu Dort (is a) solid ball player. (It’s) the reason why he got paid. Josh Giddey is a solid ball player — will get paid once his rookie deal is up. (Aleksej) Pokusevski is six-foot-nine and can shoot it. These dudes are good players over there. … Once (Chet Holmgren) comes back, it’s going to be ridiculous over there.”
With the Nets currently a dumpster fire and Durant already having asked for a trade once, who knows what the future holds in line for the 34-year-old future Hall-of-Famer.
Perhaps a possible reunion? It’s wishful thinking and the timelines between the Thunder and Durant really don’t match up but never say never.
Durant is in the first year of a four-year contract worth $194.2 million. In 17 games, Durant is averaging 30.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
For now, Thunder fans should continue to get excited over the team’s future as they start to get national recognition for what they’re building with their young core.
