Former Ireland international Kevin Doyle bagged €300,000 from the sale of one of his star horses at Goffs earlier today.
The Wexford native had purchased the foal, who is a half-brother of the legendary Altior, back in 2019 for €165,000.
At the time, Doyle described what an enticing prospect the horse was.
"He's Altior's half-brother and he's by Camelot so there's nothing not to like about him.
"For a June foal he was quite big so I'm delighted to get him, he's a lovely looking foal. Things like this don't come on the market too often. There was a few people interested in him and I'm just delighted to get him."
For those who need a reminder of all that Altior achieved over the course of a stunning career, he retired a ten-time Grade 1 winner.
Under Nicky Henderson, he racked up a record 19 wins in a row over jumps.
Mags O'Toole was the one who saw off competition to land ownership of his half-brother at Goffs earlier today with hopes surely high that he could go on to be an elite racer himself.
Doyle has always had a passion for horse racing as his family is steeped in it.
His dad Paddy has bred National Hunt horses over the years and they now run the Slaney River Stud in Wexford together.
