If Manchester City fans were excited about their club’s announcement of the pending acquisition of Erling Haaland, they were ecstatic about Kevin De Bruyne’s first-half hat-trick against Wolves.
The Etihad hero struck home his treble within the first 24 minutes to deliver the third quickest hat-trick in Premier League history. It also means he is enjoying his best scoring season with City, bringing his overall total to 18.
On Tuesday, the Premier League champions announced that they are finalising contract details with Haaland ahead of a £51m transfer from Borussia Dortmund. The news sent City supporters wild, and the news has seemingly gone down well with the City squad, including De Bruyne.

After hammering home his third of the night, the Belgian performed the meditation celebration with his arms - a move that has become synonymous with Haaland during his Dortmund stay. When the details of the deal have been thrashed out, Haaland will become a City player on July 1.
It has already got City fans dreaming of greater glory days, including talk of quadruples and Champions League success. Haaland will walk in the shoes of his father, Alf-Inge, who played for City between 2000 and 2003.
