Kevin De Bruyne raises 'small success' Man City have already achieved this season

Kevin De Bruyne thinks Manchester City have already had success this season to put themselves in a position where they can still win three trophies.

As well as being top of the Premier League table with nine games to go, Pep Guardiola's side have progressed this month to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the semi-finals of the FA Cup. As Carabao Cup winners Liverpool dare to dream of an unprecedented Quadruple, City are targeting the Treble that has only ever been achieved once in English football.

It is certain that at least one club will fail in their ultimate goal this season and probable that both will fall short of making history - not least because they are competing against each other - but the fact that the feats remain possible is an achievement in itself. De Bruyne has been instrumental in a City side that has been the dominant force in English football for half a decade, and is showing no signs of fading.

“We want to win every game, that's our aim at the beginning of every season," he said. "We couldn't make it in the Carabao Cup, but we are alive in the other three competitions.

"It's going to be so hard after the international break. Every game will be very special and we are going to try and do it [win the three trophies]. We always want to win trophies, so we always like to be in these stages of all competitions.

"We always enjoy playing at Wembley, sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. But just the fact of being there season after season shows the determination and the quality of this team.

"Even if- sometimes we didn't win there, we have always been there and we fought for the games. That in itself is a small success as a team. Once we are there [Wembley] we want to win it again.”
