Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne broke a Champions League record during an incredible start for the Blues against Real Madrid last night.
City's Belgian midfield maestro gave the hosts the lead inside the opening two minutes of the match when Riyad Mahrez sent a sumptuous ball into the Real box and De Bruyne was on the end of it to steer home a diving header.
Before ten minutes were played, De Bruyne turned provider crossing for Gabriel Jesus who held off a challenge to slot the ball past Thibaut Courtois. Karim Benzema met a Madrid cross to cut the deficit after the half-hour mark to continue an electric first half.

The drama ramped up a notch after the break as an end-to-end second half and further goals from Benzema, Vinicius Junior, Foden and Bernardo Silva saw the first leg finish 4-3 and the Blues taking a slim advantage to the Bernabeu.
It was De Bruyne 's lightning start that made Champions League history, though. His opener is the quickest goal that has ever been scored in a Champions League semi-final.
De Bruyne has made a habit of scoring important goals for City, and particularly this season - in recent weeks he has scored against Manchester United and Liverpool to help secure vital points for the Blues and contributed heavily to City's excellent run.
